Why is OBDTool much better than the cheap knock-offs coming from China?

We purchased several of the interfaces imported from China, from various sources, and they don't work on many of the cars we tried.

The cheap interfaces we tried didn't work all the time!

Our OBDTools are manufactured right here, by us, to our own design specifications.  The KEY DIFFERENCE is the internal circuit design.  There is more to the tool than just wires.  There are electronics inside.  That is what makes the difference between a tool that works RELIABLY, and one that does not.

So, why didn't the cheap tools work?

In our testing, we had many problems using the cheap tools with different cars and different computer combinations.  The problems seemed random, so we put each of the cheap tools on the test equipment that we use to test our own interfaces and the difference became very obvious.

The signals coming out of the tool to the car, and back to the computer are not quite right, and the shape of the waveforms (which should be perfect square waves with nice sharp corners) is really bad.  The input and output varied depending on which car we connected to and with which computer we used.  This really shows that it is a bad design and why the connection was so unstable.
